looking to head to:

7 - Aside tournament!

Mark your calendars now!!!!

Saturday, July 26th

(At the USA Field Hockey Training Center in Virginia Beach, Va.)
This tournament is to be held on Astroturf and will be played mostly with outdoor rules.  Approximately  48 teams are expected from all over the nation!  The field will play much like what we played on in Salisbury and be slightly larger but not full size!  I can take a max of 12 players.  In case of rain the tournament will end on Sunday!  (this is an outside tournament) We will most likely be leaving on Friday and spending  Friday night in Va beach!  I will let you know more as soon as information becomes available!!!  It should be lots of fun and a chance to play on a turf field so let me know if its something you all are interested in!!  302 337 8545  Lloydlee@dol.net

It will def be worth it!!

Some cool news!!

I just got an e mail from a college that was interested in learning more about our Goalie Ericca Bell!  They were in need of a goalie and saw her at the tournament. I have passed the info on to her! :-)  So congrats Ericca!

What is cool about all this it that when you go to these kind of events, there is of course the chance to win or lose and to play hockey... but there is a chance to get some exposure to college coaches, possibly some college money,  and a chance for you to get lots more great things out of it.  You always want to put your best foot forward and be sure to represent! :-)  Which of course you did! :-)

"Nets in Salisbury Team"

Do we need more practice modeling?...........

Front row...  Dusti, Ashley, Monika, Jordan

Back row... Angie, Connie, Sarah, Kaylan, Stacey, Lindsey, missing was Olivia :-(

Practice modeling?.... Maybe not.........  LOL

Helpful Hints for this week:

1. Keep on working on your skills!

2. Your can only be as good as you want to be!

3. Perfect practice leads to perfect play.... you cant be better than you practice..... at least not on a regular basis.  So  what can you be if you don't practice?

4. Consider going to Summer Hockey Camp!

5. Play hockey this summer in the summer league  with us!!

American Indoor Hockey Championship Tournament
23 March 2003
at Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA

The American Championship complies with FIH and USFHA rules whenever appropriate and is played with qualifying rounds. Each team plays at least seven matches, and based on tournament record competes in either flight A or B Championship rounds (similar to winners and losers brackets). Teams from both flights will be able to compete for the title of tournament champions.
Over 100 college coaches have been invited to attend this tournament. Many have expressed interest and have confirmed their plans to attend. Up to 60 teams are expected to be showcased during the Championship.

This event is open to all under 19 year old field hockey teams in the US and Canada
This tournament will be a family event and provides a hockey skills area for the youngest players, ages 8 to 12. So bring the entire family to play in both the U-19 tournament and in the hockey skills area.
There's something here for every field hockey player and fan, no matter what the age.

"Woodbridge American Indoor Hockey Championship Team"

American Indoor Hockey Championship Tournament Results!!!

Woodbridge had a good tournament and some great fun up at the east Coast tournament in Pa this past weekend.  We finished in 6th place in our division and lost a few games we could have won that would have put us in the top 3.  We competed with 32 other teams from all over the east coast from Delaware, MD, PA, NJ, NY, New Hampshire, and Maine.

We arrived early on Saturday and stayed at the Comfort Suites Inn in Carlisle pa!  After cruising  the main drag we stopped into Wendy's  for lunch... the fish combo!! Yumm!! LOL  We then hit Fashion Bug, some shoe place, and  Coconuts for some "tunes".  Later...... after we got the whole crew aboard we had dinner at Genova's  and after a brief stop at the local Walmart ..... crashed after our team meeting!!

Sunday Morning came much to soon.... Our first game was at 7am (ugh) against the Tunkhannock Tigers from PA. After a somewhat sleepy start we went on to a 2-1 win, behind the 2 goals scored by Angie.  Everyone played a great game and and we looked in some good form!

Our second game was against the Tsunami, a team from Pa, that went to the Nationals as a U19 team.  We played them pretty  hard even though we failed to score.  We fell 3-0 in a game that we were close in till the very end!!

Our 3rd game was against another national qualifying  team named the Spartan Storm from PA. We just never seemed to get on track in the 6 - 0 loss.  I'm not sure if it was lack of sleep or just that we were hungry before lunch but that game was just better  forgot!! LOL That  was the game that a ball rolled under the side of the goal under the net and the ref called it good!!  UGH!!  Lets just forget it!!

It just didn't get any easier as our 4th game was against the Rochester Blizzards a team that won there national bracket and was one of the 8th best teams in the country!!  We fell to them 6-0 too!! :-(

Finally getting  back on track we played The Pittsburg black team and played a great game but just getting outscored 2-0 in the end!  Another one that just barely got away!! LOL

We ended our day playing the 4th place finisher in another pool the Eclipse from PA.  We came out hard and scored first on a goal by Kaylan. The eclipse then answered back with a goal of their own.  After not getting awarded a stroke (that even the other teams coach said we should have had) the Eclipse slipped a goal by us late in the game for a 2-1 win! What a tough break!! Their coach  said we should consider getting  sponsored by Slazenger since we all had the same sticks! (he was actually a  Slazenger fan!!) LOL

At days end.... I think all were happy to finally be done......  we were just tired and not used to playing hockey all day long!! Playing from 7am till 6pm is a full day!! LOL Or maybe it was all that fishing and pond wadding  we did early in the afternoon!! You shoulda seen the one that got away ....  wink.. wink.. hehehe :-)

Over all we played some of the best teams on the east coast and played most of them very close!  We could have easily won 3 more of the games we played if things had just gone a little bit differently!! But hey  that's the way the ball bounces!!! LOL  I was very happy with our teams play and was happy that  they got to see some of the best teams in the US and the skills they had.  (We had 3 National U19 qualifying teams in our bracket!!  Cut us a break schedule peeps!! LOL)  But  just you wait till next year!!  We will be back better than ever..... with a new outlook and "mad" improved skills!! LOL

Id Like to thank all the parents for their support and giving me such wonderful girls to work with. Id like to thank Debbie for keeping our stats, not an easy  job!! LOL Id like to thank Ericca for coming to our team for the tournament and being our goalie!  Yea Ericca!!  :-) And id like most to thank all my girls.... Ashley, Angie, Connie, Dusti, Jordan, Kaylan, Lindsey, Monika, Olivia, Sarah and Stacey, for a wonderful season and being so great!!  I love you girls and I got your backs .....K? :-)
