Note* Players who have already signed up to play summer 07  and winter 07-08  are not paying again. there time runs out in the begging of next summer. Just because you have paid doesn't make you on the traveling team till i get a commitment and you try  out and make it. right now your only on  the Dover league team and you need to give me your commitment for that in an e mail if that's all your doing.

Hey hey ladies.... I hope everyone is getting ready for a successful school season on the hockey field and in the class room.

While indoor season is a bit away its time for us to begin preparing for next year.  This year we will be having Dover league teams and traveling teams much as last year.

Tryouts for the Traveling teams will be  Sunday September 9th from 10 am till 2 pm and Sunday September 16th from 10 am till 2 pm, at Woodbridge elementary school in greenwood.  Tryouts will include drills and actual on field play.  We will be selecting at least one team of the following U14, U16, and U19. there is a good chance there would be 2 U19 teams to travel. You will be scored and ranked from top to bottom in your age group.  The cost is $150 for this years indoor and next years summer league registration fee. Uniform cost is $155 for the traveling teams.  Casual Dover league players will just need shorts and shirts. that cost is shorts:$15, 2 shirts (black and Gold)  $30 Socks. $5 a pair.

Some of you have already paid for this years indoor and  if you make the traveling team then you only need to pay for tournaments and a uniform if you don't have one. There is a strong possibility that we will have a Dover league team and a traveling team. while they maybe the same they may also not be.

We will be looking to add new players to the teams since several of the older girls have told me they are not likely to play indoor this year and several more never played summer league. Now is the time for your commitment. I need to order uniforms for new players and that must be done by September 17th. so I need your commitment now. Those of you who paid but don't wish to travel will just be on the Dover league team. Practice starts Mid November and The elite travel teams will practice 2 times a week on Tuesday and Thursday nights. the U16 and U14 teams will practice Saturday mornings and the U16 will have some  Tuesday and Thursday night practices as well. U19 is looking to go to aprox 5 tournaments.. U16 aprox 3 and U14  maybe 2 or 3.

Returning players need to make a commitment now and schedule a tryout time and date now. This will be opened  to others by next week but im giving you ladies first chance. If you just want to play casually on the Dover league team let me know that too. all money will be due by September 17th. New players are signing up for Indoor and outdoor season.  we are no longer just offering  one season at a time teams. We are a year round field hockey club and we need year round players.

Players wishing to just play in the Dover league for summer and winter in a less competitive atmosphere need to bring there money on either the 9th or the 16th. you are paying for indoor and outdoor.

Please share this information with  any of your friends who are interested in playing as well

Please call with  questions or e mail me and also e mail me for your try out time.

Looking for a great 2007-2008 indoor season!

Okay this years indoor season will be coming soon!! This year plans to bring newer and better experiences for the Stingers.  The plan is to have a U14, U16, and U19 travel team, as well as a Dover league team for middle school and at least 3 teams for high school, and an Adult team as well.  There maybe be more than one travel team if the numbers determine that if so there will be a number 1 travel team and a number 2 travel team.  We will be holding tryouts on September 9th, 15th, 16th if needed to see who makes these Travel teams. We will also be holding open registration for anyone new wishing to play year round with the Stingers. Those not interested in traveling or not making the travel team will be on the Dover league only team. The traveling teams will play in Dover as well. Right now the U14 team can expect to travel to 3 tournaments the U16 team 4 including the national qualifier. The U19 will travel to 5 tournaments including the National qualifier. The travel teams will be practicing 2 nights a week while the other teams will be practicing on Saturday mornings.

The Stingers place 2nd at Kent County Clash!

Great Job Ladies, You all played wonderful, with a record of 3-0-2!

Starting off the day, the Stingers won over CR with a score of 3-0.  The scorers were Taylor, Ellen, and Cassandra,

scoring on a stroke.  The next game the Stingers won 2-0 over Polytech with a score of 2-0.  Cassandra lifted the ball

in the cage, and Lindsay scored again shortly after.  The game following the Stingers once again defeated the

opposing  team 1-0 against Lake Forest.  The game was head to head until Heather managed to put a score in!

The next game, the Stingers tied with Dover with a score of 1-1.  Chelsea scored early in the game.  Our final

game against Diamonds the Stingers played a great offensive game but couldn't get a goal out of it.  Great Job to the

whole team, you all played very well!

Congratulations are in order for our Stingers team  that played in the Diamond State Games. They ended up in 4th place out of 12 teams in the U19 division. They played some of the best teams on the east coast and beat long time rival Delaware Shore in the playoffs.  In fact they were the highest placing Delaware team in the U19 division. This is especially good considering they were playing a lot of the big name traveling teams. They were also at a disadvantage because they had no subs. Their first game was at 8:30 in the morning and they finished up at 8:30 at night playing 7 total games.  Congratulations girls for a great tournament!

Scoring was evenly spread around and everyone had at least one goal.  Hannah Krause had her First goal of the season on a great put back shot. Her sister Kayla Krause had 2 goals as did Kelsey Johnson, Brittany Joseph and Taylor Hatfield.  Erica parker had 1 goal and Emily Passwaters had a great game in Goal.

Summer League Information

Click here for the Summer League Waiver Form

Okay girls here is all the Information on Summer league! I will need responses and money by May 5th!  This is the date because I need to order Uniforms! Right now we have aprox 24 people tentatively signed up for the High school team and 19 people for the adult team. Your money will assure you a spot on the team.  If we get more players to sign up and pay there is a possibility  that we would have a younger and an older high school age team. I would need to know that right away. (Taking a team of 24 for the High School isn't high on my desires right now, that's too many people).  Some of you have signed up your friends for summer league, and I don't have their contact information. Pass this email onto your friend and have her email me from their account so that I have a way to get in touch with her. Please send what you need for your uniform, your sizes and number choices. Shorts should be ordered in a size larger than what you normally wear! All Games will be in Dover either at Shutte Park or Dover Park. Everyone needs to sign and turn in their waiver form when they sign up. Parents for under 18 need to sign. Here is that link:  www.lloydlee.com/DelawareStingerssummerwaverform.htm

Checks should be made payable to: Delaware Stingers

and Mailed along with their uniform information before May 5th to:

Captains: Jen Short, Sara McCabe, Chelsea Collison & Sara McCabe

Below you will find the master chart for what everyone did all summer as far as games, practices and  activities you participated in. If you cannot read it I suggest you go to our website and look at it there. :-) While we had great turnouts for our team  building activities, I Really wish many more of you had participated in the team  bonding experiences and activities and would like to remind you that every opportunity you are being given is a good one and  one you need to try to take part in!  I know that many of you who participated have grown closer and  really  had a great time as well as making new friends. You can tell that, by the many Photos up on our website, and how you all act around each other when you play each other on the high school  hockey field. You all are a family!

You all actually  finished in 3rd place out of 8 teams this year in the Dover league. Only CR and Lake where ahead of you and not by much! We had many games that 20 or more players showed up for and that speaks well for your level of commitment and your love of the game!

While I think you all did just a fantastic job this summer and I wish I  could recognize all of you, several of you have done just a stand out/super job.   While there is no trophy,  these results are how I, and your teammates, and your Captains feel about you. And with that said.... on with the Recognition!  Congratulations to all of you for a great Season and Bing such a Great Group of Girls! :-) Love ya Lloydlee
