Mission Statement: The Delaware Stingers Field Hockey Organization's mission is to promote the growth and love of field hockey in Sussex County, Delaware and nearby areas for elementary age level players thru adult players.
We are year round organization that: Provides participation and development opportunities for players, and coaches. Provides experiences that will help prepare our athletes for success in the future, both on and off the field. Provides leadership responsibilities that will enable our athletes to be successful members of their community. And Finally, Provides our athletes with a love of the game that will be with them for life.

Beach Bash
Okay ladies Beach Bash is being held April 26th and 27th at Hudson Fields in Milton de. this is 11 vs 11 outside on grass. this is a two day tournament. 3 games each day. the cost is $30 per person. we can have up to 18 players on the roster. This is a U19 tournament! I need to know like now who can attend and i need your money sent in to hold your spot. this is being offered to the U19 players first then it will go to the u16 and U14 to fill in. I need your commitment NOW! and Which days you can attend. Players who can attend both days will be given first preference till we reach 18 players thanks allot lloydlee PS>>> This Is Sussex Centrals Prom so Many of those players are going to be unable to attend!

Summer League
We have been working on our Adult and High School summer league teams and I need to start to get a handle on who wants to play? Last year the adults played on Wednesday nights at 6:15 and 7:15pm (we Usually had the last game since we had further to travel) and Sunday afternoons from like 3 till 6pm. These were in Dover, like once a week and every other week maybe twice.
The HS Team Played once a week on Monday nights with makeup's on Thursday.
While this hasn't been set yet im imagining that this will be much the same.
Generally we practiced a couple times before the season started and that was it. we started mid June and finished beginning of august.
Middle school girls who are going into the 8th grade in the fall of 08 can also play summer league on a our hs team. Im not sure if there will be a Middle school division yet. they talk of it every year but it never happens?
Girls that graduated in 08 Must move up to the Adult team!
so that all said.... I need to know who is in and what group you want to play in? The cost for summer 08 is $75 which includes your play and your fundraising money. you will be wearing Gold and Black .

Just because you have paid doesn't make you on the traveling team till i get a commitment and you try out and make it. right now your only on the Dover league team and you need to give me your commitment for that in an e mail if that's all your doing.

U19 Gold Team vs. U16 White Team 12:10pm (U19 Gold Team won 11-3)
The U19 Gold team brought home the win this week against the U16 White team with a score of 11-3.
The lead scorers of the game were Ellen Rowe and Beth Swadley with 4 goals each. Megan West scored two
goals, followed by Paige Jalot who scored one. On the U16 White team, Kelsey scored two goals, and
Elizabeth scored one. Great job to ladies from both teams, you all played wonderful!
U19 Black Team vs. Lady Knights 4:20 pm (U19 Black team won 3-0)
The U19 Black team played the Lady Knights this week, and brought home a win of 3-0! Starting
the game off with only three players and the goalie, the Stinger's Heather Soloman put in all three goals!

The Stingers shut-out Ravens I this week with a score of 19-0!! The leading scorer was Ellen Rowe with 5 goals. Beth Swadley, Paige Jalot, and Megan West each had 3 goals. Jill Guerrazzi and Chelsea Collison had two goals, and Joanna Chelariu had one goal. Fantastic game ladies, you scored the most goals this game the league has seen yet this season!

The U19 Gold team took home a win this week against Lake 1 with a close score of 5-4! Beth Swadley was the lead scorer with 3 goals, followed by Megan West and Cassandra Short with 1 goal each. Great game ladies, way to pull through and work together for a win!

U19 Black team lost this week against Lake 2. Kristen Phillips was the leading scorer with 4 goals, Heather Soloman had 2 goals, and Keena Rollins had one goal.
The U19 Black team played a tough game against Lake 2, and lost 9-7 but played well through the end of the game.

The U14 Black team played a tough game this week and lost 4-5. Taylor scored all four goals.

CR Blue vs. U19 Gold Team 12:10 pm (Stingers won 6-4)
The U19 Gold team won this week against CR Blue 6-4. The leading scorers of the game were Chelsea Collison and Cassandra Short, who scored a goal on a stroke. Ellen Rowe also lifted the ball in the cage and scored, and Beth Swadley scored a goal as well. Congrats. to the Gold team for defeating CR this week in a tough game!

Stingers lost this week against Smyrna, with a score of 5-1, with a goal scored by Heather Soloman.
U16 White team vs. Dover 1 1:50pm (Stingers lost 7-2)
Stingers lost this week with a score of 7-2. The two goals were scored by Natalie Bailey.

The U14 Black team won this week against Lake 6, 8-4. Taylor was the lead scorer with scored 4 goals, and Erica Parker scored three goals. Bethany Killmon scored one goal.
CR Gold vs. U19 Black team 2:40pm (Won 9-4)
U19 Black team won this week against CR Gold. Kristen Phillips was the lead scorer with 4 goals. Heather Soloman scored 3 goals, and Caroline Thompson scored two goals. Good job girls!
U16 White team vs. Seaford Blue Jays 3:30pm (Lost 3-2)
U16 White team lost this week in a tough game against Seaford. Kelsey Johnson scored both goals in this game.
U19 Gold team vs. Smyrna 6:00pm (Won 3-2)
The U19 Gold Team won this week against Smyrna. The Stingers were down a player the whole game, but brought home a win. Chelsea Collison was the lead scorer with two goals, followed by Cassandra Short with one goal. Congrats to the Gold team, and see you next week in playoffs!
Playoffs will be held on Sun. Feb. 24, and Sun. March 2!!
Middle school:
Stingers Gold finished in 4th place and will play Stingers Black who finished in 5th place in Game 2 at 5:10 pm Sunday
there were 9 teams in Middle school division.
High School:
Stingers White finished in Red division 8th place and plays Campus Community in game 8 at 1:50 pm. A win will have them playing game 10 at 3 :30 pm against Lake 2.
Stingers Black finished 4th place in the Gold Division and will play game 2 against Smyrna who finished as Red 5 at 8:50 am. Only one game today. Don't be late and don't speed! LOL
Stingers Gold Finished in 1st place Red division and 1st place over all in the Dover league and will play the winner of the CR Gold vs. Lake 3 game to be played earlier in the day. The Gold team will play Game 3 at 9:40 am. Only one game for you today.
All teams should bring Both color shirts and socks. If you lose you are out of the tournament. Winners go on to play next week where they will play until they lose. High school teams should be prepared to play 3 games next Sunday.
Coaches please let me know right away if your placing doesn't seem correct? This is what they told me.

2008 National Hockey Festival Palm Springs, CA!
Are you working on your skills to make it there?
The estimated cost for the 2008 Festival is $1400. Your flight out there is on your own, Your flight out there is estimated at $300-$500. If you need a uniform it is estimated at $150. The balance of your trip paid to Delaware Stingers is $800- $1000.
There will be certain requirements to attend the 2008 Festival;
1. Players must attend at least one camp for field hockey for the summer of '08
2. Players must play for their high school field hockey team for the fall season of '08
3. Players must play indoor for the 2007-2008 league, must attend spring and summer tournaments for '08, and play in the summer league of '08 for the Delaware Stingers.
4. Players accepted on the 2008 Delaware Stingers National Festival Team must attend practices on Sundays starting in September Practices will most likely occur 1-3pm.
