Name: V.C.U. 7 vs. 7 Turf Tournament
Where: V.C.U. Richmond Va Carey Field
When: Sunday April 9th, 2006
Who: U19 or High school players
Notes: Last year we spent the night before. It was a hot day on the turf last year and each team played
like 8 or 9......25 min games.  Long day but pretty fun. Its on turf outside! These fields were huge!
We will be staying the night before. The cost is $50 per player. Its a 7-aside tournament, and we will play on turf fields. We are only taking one team. We will have practices inside on Monday, March 27 and Monday, April 3rd, 7 - 9 pm. VCU is about 3 and half hours away.

Name: Beach Bash
Where: Rehoboth Beach  Delaware
When: April 29th and 30th, 2 day tournament
Who: Adult players and U19 or High School Players
Notes: Takes place at the Rehoboth Elementary School, so we won't be staying the night. Cost is $25 per player. It is full-field 11 on 11. We'll play on grass. Since we will have games on both Saturday and Sunday, we are looking for players that can come BOTH days! Each player on the team will receive a t-shirt. We are only taking one team. We will have practices outside at Greenwood on Monday, April 17 and Monday, April 24th, 6:30 till dark.

Where: Shippensburg Pa

Notes: We will be staying the night before. The cost is $55 per player. Its also a 7-aside tournament, and we will play on turf fields. We are only taking one team. We will have practice on Monday, May 8 and Monday, May 15, 6:30 till dark. Shippensburg is about 3 and half hours away.

In order to sign up for these tournaments, we need your commitment that you will come to the scheduled practices. I understand that they will be right in the middle of spring sports, but we have already checked out the game schedules for high school, and most games are on Tuesdays and Thursdays (for softball, soccer and track). That's why we picked Monday nights as our practice days, and most of you should be done with practice and able to attend them. We aren't going to put you on the list to go until you have paid your money. We have had too many people in the past "signing up" for these tournaments, and when it comes time to pay, they don't want to go, and we are left struggling to find enough people to field a team. Older and more experienced players are going to be given preference for these tournaments. If we get enough people that want to go to these tournaments, we may have 2 teams.
 
Checks should be made out to "Delaware Stingers" and mailed to 204 North Main Street, Bridgeville, DE 19933. Tournament fees are non-refundable.

Game Schedules

Here is your schedule for the Dover indoor league. In case of inclement weather, please contact your coach. Also listen to WDSD, WAFL & WDOV. Games are to be played as scheduled. Seedings are based on regular season standings. Teams are responsible for setting up the boards and goals, and putting back in the proper area at the end of the night. Game balls are in a white box and stored on top of the boards and should be put back each night. Please discard all trash when you leave.

Practice Schedule

I just want to let you know that as long as I have gym time, if you want to come up on your own and hit the ball around and possibly practice with the other teams that is fine with me. In Fact I  encourage it! The more touches you can get on the ball the better. People looking to  go to Palm Springs, CA next year with the National team need to start getting ready now, and that means maybe putting in some extra practice times this indoor season. I sure hope you all got that hint! LOL :-)

First of all I would like to thank you all for playing and I think you all did a wonderful job!  This was our fist year of having an  adult team and a high school team and it worked out great!  I would like to recognize some special players and for their outstanding work this summer.

Recently, Monika Smith and Leslie Messick played in the Kent County Clash Field Hockey Tournament. The girls played with Delaware Shore Field Hockey Club and they made it all the way to the championship game! They came in second place with a record of 6-3-1. Monika Smith scored 5 goals for the day, 2 of them on strokes, and Leslie Messick had many defensive saves. After playing 10 thirty-minute games, they went and played for Delaware Stingers adult league. Good job and thanks to the very sore and tired girls!!
