Summer League Information
Click here for the Summer League Waiver Form
Okay girls here is all the Information on Summer league! I will need responses and money by May 5th! This is the date because I need to order Uniforms! Right now we have aprox 24 people tentatively signed up for the High school team and 19 people for the adult team. Your money will assure you a spot on the team. If we get more players to sign up and pay there is a possibility that we would have a younger and an older high school age team. I would need to know that right away. (Taking a team of 24 for the High School isn't high on my desires right now, that's too many people). Some of you have signed up your friends for summer league, and I don't have their contact information. Pass this email onto your friend and have her email me from their account so that I have a way to get in touch with her. Please send what you need for your uniform, your sizes and number choices. Shorts should be ordered in a size larger than what you normally wear! All Games will be in Dover either at Shutte Park or Dover Park. Everyone needs to sign and turn in their waiver form when they sign up. Parents for under 18 need to sign. Here is that link: www.lloydlee.com/DelawareStingerssummerwaverform.htm
Checks should be made payable to: Delaware Stingers
and Mailed along with their uniform information before May 5th to:
204 N Main Street
Bridgeville De 19933
Adult league will play 2 games a week with games on Wednesday nights 6:15 or 7:15 (We will most likely always play the late game) and Sundays starting at either 4:30, 5:30, or 6:30pm. Their rain date will be possibly Tuesdays. You will start games on Wednesday, June 14th and your season will end the first week in August. You will be wearing black shorts, our neon pink socks and neon pink shirt (same as last year). The cost for those of you who need uniforms will be: Shorts $12, Shirt $15 and Socks $5. Your cost to play in the league will be $35 each. Past players and older players get first shot at numbers. Right now the people signed up to play adult league are:
August 15th: End of season party at the old mill! 6 pm!
When do you all go back to college? Mark theses dates down now!
2006 Summer League Adult Team
Coach: Leslie Messick
Captains: Jordan Wheatley & Sarah Pritchett
Record: 5-6
6/14/2006 Wednesday at 7:15 pm
Brown & Associates Vs. Delaware Stingers
Schutte Park Field 2
The Stingers won this hard-fought game 1-0. Sarah Pritchett scored the lone goal. The Stingers dominated this game and the offense had many scoring opportunities. The defense also kept the ball of the cage even though Brown & Associates had a few back-to-back offensive corners. Good job to Claire Rekitkze and Nicole Bailey for the combined shut-out.
6/18/2006 Sunday at 4:30 pm
East Coast Motorcars Vs. Delaware Stingers
Schutte Park Field 1
The Stingers lost this game to top-ranked ECM 5-0. Although they were playing with only 10 people and the heat was intense, the Stingers worked hard against this very offensive team. The defense and mid-field did a great job with the amount of shots taken against them, and the offense worked hard on their corners, even though they didn't record any goals.
6/25/2006 Sunday at 4:30 pm
Delaware Stingers Vs. DE Electric/Mercer
Schutte Park Field 2
Postponed until 7/11/06 at 7:15, Dover Parks
The Stingers never had to play DE Electric for this victory. The score will go down as 1-0 because of a forfeit by the other team. Thanks to all the Stingers players that came out for this game even though you ended up not playing.
6/28/2006 Wednesday at 7:15 pm
Delaware Stingers Vs. The Crashers
Schutte Park Field 1
The Stingers won this game 2-1. Monika Smith scored the first goal, and the Stingers held the lead until almost half-time. In the second half, Bethany Pavlik scored another goal to lead the Stingers to victory.
7/9/2006 Sunday at 5:30 pm
Delaware Stingers Vs. Hamilton Hustlers
Schutte Park Field 1
Good game for the stingers as they won this game 5-0. Leading scorer was Bethany Pavlik who had 3 goals, including one on a penalty stroke. Jordan Wheatley and Sarah Pritchett had one goal each. Although Nicole Bailey wasn't pressured that much she stopped all shots at her. Goalie Claire Rekitzki had a good game playing the field!
7/12/2006 Wednesday at 7:15 pm
Quality Exteriors Vs. Delaware Stingers
Schutte Park Field 1
Even though the Stingers only had 9 players for this game, they still beat Quality Exteriors 3-2. QE scored first and led the whole first half, but the Stingers came back with a goal right away at the start of the second half. From there on they dominated the rest of the game. QE got a corner with practically no time left, but the defense kept it out for the win. Great game to everyone there, especially the offense and midfield, who passed great the whole game. The first goal was scored by Bethany Pavlik and Kaylan Hunsberger added the last 2 goals for the victory.
7/16/2006 Sunday at 6:30 pm
Delaware Stingers Vs. Geiger
Schutte Park Field 1
Although the Stingers only had 8 players on the field and Geiger had the full 11 plus subs, Sarah Pritchett still managed to get in a goal in this 5-1 loss. The score doesn't reflect it, but the Stingers had just as much time on offense and had more corners than Geiger did, but the Stingers just didn't have the numbers up front to score.
7/19/2006 Wednesday at 7:15 pm
C & M Custom Homes Vs. Delaware Stingers
Schutte Park Field 2
Once again, the Stingers only had 9 players while the other team had many subs, but the Stingers fought hard and lost 5-3. Although some of C & M's goals were scored because of questionable calls, the Stingers never gave up playing. The first goal was scored by Caroline Darsney, the second by Bethany Pavlik and the third by Caroline Darsney. Congratulations are in order for everyone who was there, because you all played great!
7/23/2006 Sunday at 6:30 pm
Delmarva Pole Vs. Delaware Stingers
Schutte Park Field 1
Stingers forfeit because we don't have enough people. It goes in the record book as a 1-0 loss.
7/26/2006 Wednesday at 7:15 pm
Envirocorp Vs. Delaware Stingers
Schutte Park Field 1
The Stingers lost this game 6-2. They only had 8 players total, including field player Carla Baker in goal. She turned in a good performance, as did everyone else, but there just weren't enough players. Sarah and Caroline had the goals.
7/30/2006 Sunday at 5:30 pm
Delaware Stingers Vs. Brown & Associates
Schutte Park Field 2
The Stingers only had 7 people for this game and they still managed to get a goal in for a loss of 4-1. Everyone there played well and tried their best.
8/2/2006 Wednesday at 7:15 pm
Delaware Stingers Vs. East Coast Motorcars
Schutte Park Field 2
Stingers and ECM were matched again at this game. Although the Stingers lost 4-0, they held ECM to 0-0 at halftime. Congratulations a a great season to the Stingers, whose adult team improved tremendously from last year. Also, thanks to Caroline Darsney and Leslie Messick, who had perfect attendance all season, for practices and games.
