Summer League Information
Click here for the Summer League Waiver Form
Okay girls here is all the Information on Summer league! I will need responses and money by May 5th! This is the date because I need to order Uniforms! Right now we have aprox 24 people tentatively signed up for the High school team and 19 people for the adult team. Your money will assure you a spot on the team. If we get more players to sign up and pay there is a possibility that we would have a younger and an older high school age team. I would need to know that right away. (Taking a team of 24 for the High School isn't high on my desires right now, that's too many people). Some of you have signed up your friends for summer league, and I don't have their contact information. Pass this email onto your friend and have her email me from their account so that I have a way to get in touch with her. Please send what you need for your uniform, your sizes and number choices. Shorts should be ordered in a size larger than what you normally wear! All Games will be in Dover either at Shutte Park or Dover Park. Everyone needs to sign and turn in their waiver form when they sign up. Parents for under 18 need to sign. Here is that link: www.lloydlee.com/DelawareStingerssummerwaverform.htm
Checks should be made payable to: Delaware Stingers

Delaware Stingers Field Hockey Summer Camp 2006
"Building for the Future"
Grades 3rd through 8th
The Delaware Stingers Field Hockey Club wants to help you in "Building for the Future." In the past 4 years we have grown to over 120 members from all over Sussex County playing indoor hockey and field hockey. Our love for hockey has inspired us to help others gain skills and appreciation for the sport as well! What better way than in a camping experience can we share our knowledge and love for the game. Our camp will focus on individual skills and team play. We are committed to making you a better, stronger player, and to helping you develop your self-confidence. Most importantly, we want you to fall in love with field hockey!
Camp will take place in the Woodbridge area. Campers must have a stick, shin guards, and mouth guard. Camp will be from 9am till 12 noon daily. Cost is $75 and space is limited.
Week 1: July 31st thru August 3rd (grades 3-8) 9 am till 12 noon

"Ask not what your teammates can do for you.
Ask what you can do for your teammates." -Magic
Johnson

All Indoor Team Members must be members of the Delaware Stingers Field Hockey Club and also Members of the US National Field Hockey Organization.
"Opportunity dances with those who are already on the dance floor."
"Play For Her"
"Somewhere
behind the athlete you've become, and the hours of practice, and the coaches
who pushed you, and the teammates who believe in you, is the little girl who
picked up a hockey stick, the one who fell in love with the game, and never
looked back.... PLAY FOR HER."
"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot & missed. I've failed over & over & over again in my life, & that is why I succeed." ~Michael Jordan #23
Sports are:
"Sport
is a metaphor for life. I've learned a lot about myself during the
long hours of practice...I learned you can give 110%, set goals and still
not reach them. I've learned sometimes when the pain is intolerable, you
have to swallow your pride, grit your teeth, silence the tears, and run.
I've learned to stick with it, and keep trying, long after everyone else has
abandoned the cause. I've learned there are no failures, only temporary
setbacks. I've learned that the perfect team often loses, and occasionally
the underdog triumphs. I've learned that teammates have an invisible bond
with each other, a bond that can never be broken, a bond of dedication,
love, and respect."

Sponsorship Programs
![]()
The Delaware Stingers now has a tax id number and a bank account!! All checks should be made payable to "Delaware Stingers" in the future! With that said...we are also looking for sponsors. We have several major purchases to be made:
Goalie Equipment
Other Player protection Equipment,
Travel Uniforms,
Entry fees for the many tournaments we attend. (both Indoor and Outdoor)
Educational Camps, and Clinics for players and coaches.
A place for our indoor Team to practice and play on in the winter.
An actual practice and play field including: land preparation, planting grass, keeping up the field, (including irrigation), bleachers and a second set of Goal cages. (As you may or may not know there is no field available to play on in the Woodbridge school district in the spring or summer. The Woodbridge Jr High team basically practiced in someone's back yard last year during their season!) I am willing to donate land just outside of Bridgeville off of my family farm for the fields to be set on.
So We Need Your Help!!
We have several ways for you or your business to help support Stingers Field Hockey, Girls Sports, and all the great kids in our area!
